Jennifer Garner just stepped back into the spotlight in a big way, reprising her role as the fierce and agile Elektra in the new Marvel movie Deadpool & Wolverine, which has already surpassed $1 billion in global box office less than a month after its release.
At 52, Garner is proving that she still has what it takes to portray the iconic assassin, nearly two decades after she first took on the role.

But Garner’s preparation for this demanding role extends beyond the physical training and stunt work—she has also been focusing on her nutrition, crafting a special smoothie that she believes is the perfect fuel for her superhero lifestyle.
Jennifer Garner’s “Elektrafying” smoothie
In addition to her lucrative acting career, Garner has immersed herself in the world of nutrition through Once Upon a Farm, a food brand she co-founded with the mission of introducing babies and toddlers to fresh, plant-based food early to set them up for nutritious lives in adulthood.
“How you learn to eat is what you’re attracted to [for] the rest of your life,” Garner previously said at a conference.
“We cannot expect little babies to grow up on fast food or whatever, and then to grow up and just be like, ‘Let me tuck into this kale salad.’ It’s just not fair,” she said.
Putting this philosophy into practice, Garner recently shared her go-to smoothie recipe with her followers on Instagram as part of her “Pretend Cooking Show” series. In a fun twist, she prepared the smoothie while dressed as Elektra, adding a touch of drama to her kitchen routine.
The “Elektra Smoothie,” as she calls it, is designed by nutritionist Kelly LeVeque, CCN to be a satisfying start to the day, packed with ingredients that promote energy, strength, and overall wellbeing.
The smoothie begins with a serving of protein powder, which provides the necessary protein to support muscle maintenance and recovery—crucial for someone like Garner, who is constantly engaging in physically demanding activities.
Next, she adds a tablespoon of ground flaxseed and a tablespoon of chia seeds, both of which are excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acids and fiber, supporting heart health and digestion. Almond butter and almond milk provide healthy fats and calcium, essential for bone health and sustained energy levels.
Garner also includes a handful of fresh spinach, which is rich in iron and vitamins, and a small handful of berries, which are high in antioxidants and add a natural sweetness to the drink. To keep the smoothie cool and refreshing, she throws in a handful of ice.

Garner’s approach to nutrition is practical and balanced. But she admits to adding a bit more almond butter and berries than the recipe calls for, showing that smoothie recipes can be flexible.
And Garner keeps the recipe fun in other ways. As she prepares the smoothie, she gives a playful shoutout to her blender by yelling, “Blender!” before using one of Elektra’s sais, a traditional weapon, to mix the smoothie by hand and even taste it.
Celebrity smoothies
Garner’s smoothie is part of a growing trend of celebrity-endorsed drinks, especially those associated with Erewhon.
While Garner’s smoothie is not available at Erewhon, the luxury Los Angeles grocery store has become a hotspot for celebrity smoothies, each one reflecting the unique personality and wellness philosophy of the star who created it.
Gaia Herbs
Erewhon kicked off the year in January with supermodel Gisele Bündchen’s Giselderberry Boost Smoothie. This smoothie included ingredients such as black elderberry syrup, açaí, and coconut meat, aligning with Bündchen’s long-standing commitment to an organic, plant-forward diet.
In March, the grocery store launched Winnie Harlow’s Island Glow smoothie, inspired by her Jamaican heritage, built around Barcode’s sports beverage and coconut water, this smoothie offered a vibrant blend of tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple, paired with health-boosting sea moss. Harlow’s smoothie was not plant-based as it contained honey and Vital Proteins’ vanilla collagen, which is sourced from beef bones, skin, and cartilage. However, depending on the Erewhon location, you can request vegan collagen and remove the honey.
One of the most famous Erewhon smoothies of all time is Hailey Bieber’s Strawberry Skin Glaze. Tied to the model’s skincare brand, Rhode, this smoothie gained immense popularity due to its skin-boosting ingredients. However, like Harlow’s smoothie, this one was not plant-based as it also contained the collagen ingredient.
Cosmic Bliss
In a fun twist, ice cream company Cosmic Bliss and Bieber created the Strawberry Glaze Frozen Dessert, a soft-serve version of the drink that is free from animal products, also available at Erehwon, including in take-home pints. The dairy-free soft serve has since launched at other retailers, including Sprouts where it recently became the top-selling ice cream pint—a category first for a vegan product at Sprouts.
While the supermodel smoothies at Erewhon are typically priced around $20 each, Garner’s Elektra smoothie is made from plant-based ingredients that won’t break the bank while still allowing you to eat like both a supermodel and a superhero.
