Blackbird Foods Partners with Daring to Launch Buffalo Plant Chicken Pizza

Reading Time: 2 minutes

New York City’s Blackbird Foods announces it is partnering with plant chicken leader Daring Foods on its latest pizza offering – Blackbird Buffalo Pizza.
“It’s exciting to see two beloved plant-based brands with a similar mission come together”
Launching exclusively at US Sprouts Farmers Markets, the new frozen pizza will feature Daring’s Breaded Plant Chicken Pieces.
The Buffalo Pizza is described as “pizzeria” quality, and includes a New York-style hand-tossed crust topped with spicy buffalo sauce, vegan cheese, fresh onions and Daring’s Breaded Plant Chicken. According to Blackbird, the pizza makes a quick and convenient meal with a baking time of just eight minutes.
“We are thrilled to partner with Blackbird to create our new exclusive Buffalo Plant Chicken Pizza,” says Founder and CEO of Daring, Ross Mackay. “It’s exciting to see two beloved plant-based brands with a similar mission come together for the first time to expand into new territories.”

The Buffalo Pizza will begin rolling out in all 370 Sprouts stores beginning April 17. In addition to the Daring collaboration, Blackbird reveals two of its other pizza flavors – Supreme and Kale & Mushroom – will also debut at Sprouts nationwide.
Pizza and WINGS
Founded by chefs, Blackbird states it is on a mission to bring restaurant-quality foods to the plant-based market. In 2022, the company launched its line of dairy-free pizzas at hundreds of Target and Fresh Market stores across the US, and debuted WINGS – a line of seitan wings it called the “world’s first” to offer the real taste and texture size of chicken wings.
Months later, Blackbird reported that WINGS garnered enormous social media attention and became its top-selling online product.

Creating a “united front”
Speaking on the company’s collaboration with Daring, CEO Emanuel Storch says, “I’m particularly excited about this partnership with Daring, as we are demonstrating that plant-based brands can take on harmful industrial animal farming with a united front. We are part of a tight-knit community of plant-based startups that are aiming to displace meat and dairy products in the market and drive consumers towards a cleaner, brighter future.”
