Systematic exploration advances several quality gold targets North of 60 Mining News – November 11, 2022Blue Star Gold Corp. Nov. 9 reported that its 2022 field work has identified and advanced several exploration targets across the company’s Ulu, Hood River, and Roma gold properties, which cover more than a 45-kilometer (28 miles) stretch of the High Lake Greenstone Belt in Nunavut. This includes three priority targets on Ulu – Bouncer, Zebra-Dagg, and Gravy.According to a 2015 calculation, the Flood and Gnu zones at Ulu host 2.5 million metric tons of measured and indicated resources averaging 7.53 grams per metric ton (605,000 ounces) gold; and 1.26 million metric tons of inferred resource averaging 5.57 g/t (226,000 oz) gold.Blue Star’s 2022 drilling targeted expansion areas around and between the two zones that make up its resource. At the same time, the company completed a 3,055-line-kilometer airborne magnetics geophysical survey over almost the entirety of its High Lake Greenstone Belt landholdings; a regional till sampling program at Roma, which lies about 32 kilometers (20 miles) north of the adjoining Ulu and Hood River properties; and prospecting of 58 of more than 100 mineral occurrences across the three properties. The sampling and prospecting turned up three priority targets on the Ulu property:• Bouncer – a more than 800-meter-long undrilled structural trend about 1,500 meters west of the Flood deposit where sampling returned assays with as much as 17.6 g/t gold along with locally elevated copper.• Zebra-Dagg – a 900-meter-long corridor about 1,800 meters north of the Flood deposit that has only been tested with three short historical drill holes. Sediment samples from this corridor returned up to 7.83 g/t gold.• Gravy – a more than 950-meter-long undrilled trend about 5,500 meters southeast of the Flood deposit that may link to the Crown trend, resulting in a 2,200-metre-long corridor. Samples containing up to 8.81 g/t gold were collected from Gravy. “The high gold grades returned from sampling highlight many different trends demonstrating the excellent potential for new discoveries,” said Blue Star Gold CEO Grant Ewing. “The Bouncer trend is an example of an area that has strong potential; it is an extensive structure with high gold grades at surface, no history of drilling, and located less than two kilometers from the Flood Zone gold deposit.”In addition to the priority targets, the 2022 field program advanced six additional prospects on Ulu and the adjacent Hood River property.• Ulu West-Fold – an undrilled showing immediately north of Bouncer where two styles of mineralization were identified: a quartz vein traceable for 70 meters where sampling returned grades up to 7.83 g/t gold; and a 100-meter-long zone of disseminated sulfides that returned values up to 5.19 g/t gold. • Interlake – a 160-meter-long anomalous showing roughly 1,000 meters northwest of Flood where confirmation samples returned 1.44 g/t gold. Two historical drill holes cut 1.97 meters averaging 2.73 g/t gold and two meters of 3.33 g/t gold at Interlake.• JC – an undrilled showing about 300 meters east of Gnu with a roughly 30-square meter area of anomalous veining with trace sulfides. Sample with as much as 15.2 g/t gold grades. The JC showing has very little outcrop and requires additional follow-up exploration.• Alone – a roughly 170-meter-long vein about 500 meters southeast of JC that is within the same gabbro that hosts polymetallic veins at the Gnu zone. Sampling returned anomalous areas with as much as 6.53 g/t gold. The target is roughly 600 meters from Gnu and 725 meters from Flood. • North Penthouse – a large area about 4,000 meters northeast of Flood with numerous exposures of irregular silicified zones and quartz veins with arsenopyrite mineralization. Field checking identified cut channel samples that are not within the sample database; a check sample of one channel returned 92.4 g/t gold. At least a dozen historical holes were evaluated at five different targets within the broad area. Additional work is required to capture existing sample locations, map alteration and structure, compile drill data and generate a coherent target for drill testing.• Rhonda – an undrilled showing about 1,200 meters south of Flood where a limited sampling effort identified interesting silver, copper, and zinc values. Blue Star Gold Corp.In addition to Ulu-Hood River, the 2022 exploration turned up two prospects on the Roma property, which lies about 27 kilometers (17 miles) north of Hood River: • Roma Fold – limited prospecting of this undrilled showing included one sample averaging 14.1 g/t gold and 1% lead with elevated silver from carbonate altered rock with arsenopyrite mineralization, which is similar to a 12.1 g/t gold sample collected in 2021. • Roma E – samples of this area just northeast of the Roma Main showing returned assays with as much as 9.52 g/t gold, which require additional follow-up.”It is very encouraging to see the large number of high-quality target areas outlined during the first systematic regional review at our projects in over 20 years,” said Ewing.Author Bio
