KANSAS CITY — Seasonal peppermint flavors are popping on menus across the United States, as foodservice operators continue to prepare for the upcoming holidays.The minty flavor may be seen in several applications. Wendy’s, for example, added a peppermint Frosty to its menu for a limited time.“The peppermint Frosty is our latest flavor innovation on the iconic Wendy’s frosty that fans have come to know and love for over 50 years,” said John Li, vice president of culinary innovation for Dublin-based Wendy’s. “It’s the classic thick and creamy Frosty that our fans crave with bursts of fresh peppermint. Every sweet bite will put you in the holiday spirit.”Other peppermint introductions include a holiday ‘No Name Cake,’ which is available in a chocolate peppermint flavor, from pizza chain MOD Superfast Pizza.Self-serve frozen yogurt chain Yogurtland added a chocolate peppermint cookie, as well.“We’re excited for our guests to enjoy a taste of the holidays with our classic Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Peppermint Cookie flavors,” said Brittany Knollmiller, head of marketing at Yogurtland. “Our seasonal line-up is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit and cozy up to a cup of froyo with friends and family.”
